Need ideas for an independent work time, but want it to be easy and meaningful? This year our schools said that we are going to do 45 minutes of RTI 3 at the end of the day. YIKES! That means that 14 of my students need something to do. I have created something each day that is fun and meaningful. These are general things I found and I keep adding to the list.

It is never easy to plan a long period of time for 6 year olds to work independently, but these have been a fun time that everyone looks forward to. When they finish these activities, they work on their unfinished work then they can do an app that we have used in class, read a book, draw on their whiteboard, or clean their desk. What are your favorite independent work time activities?
